On helping Africa Youth Peace Call, by Michael W. Dean:

Libertarian organization in Africa that I’m helping (and why you could help them too)

I’ve recently become involved with an organization in Ghana, Africa called “Africa Youth Peace Call.” They do good work teaching liberty on a continent where food is scarce and malaria & armed conflicts are not uncommon. The average yearly income in Ghana is about $1300 USD.

(A typical day in Ghana – anti-free market regulations make it hard to eke out a living.)

Africa Youth Peace Call is legit and on the level (I did my checking around) and I have that from people at the USA orgs International Society for Individual Liberty (who’ve had a member, Louis James, go to Ghana in person to work with Africa Youth Peace Call), Peace, Freedom and Prosperity Movement, and the Foundation for Economic Education. Africa Youth Peace Call has also received a prestigious award from the free-trade organization, the International Policy Network.

I made a donation of $50 to Africa Youth Peace Call, and encourage others to do the same, even if you can’t send that much. At the risk of sounding like one of those cheesy socialist TV commercials, “even a few dollars will help a lot.” Donations are tax-deductible and can be made through the American non-profit organization that works with them, International Society for Individual Liberty. (I had a great talk with Jim Elwood from that org tonight on the phone. He used to own Laissez Faire Books and has been a libertarian almost as long as I’ve been alive.)

You can make a donation by check, money order, PayPal or Credit Card. To donate by check or money order, make it out to International Society for Individual Liberty and in the memo space put “for Africa Youth Peace Call” and mail it to:

International Society for Individual Liberty
Jim Elwood
237 Kearny Street #120
San Francisco, CA 94108

To donate by credit card you can call Jim Elwood at 415-859-5174.

If you want to donate via PayPal, use this address: isil@isil.org

To donate by Bitcoins: 193czu5wGUanEwECVDGz3n1H8qkoCiGwaH

Also, please send an e-mail letting Jim know it’s for Africa Youth Peace Call.

If you want to make an additional donation to International Society for Individual Liberty themselves, they do good work for liberty all over the world. You can do that through the above methods also, or on their membership page, here.

Africa Youth Peace Call is run by a great guy named Kofi, who does a lot with very little. He did not ask me for donations, I offered. He’s also going to be showing our film on free enterprise at an upcoming Africa Youth Peace Call seminar, and I’ll also be doing a webcast with them via Skype video after the showing.

If you want to contact Kofi directly his full name is Afrikanus Kofi Akosah, his e-mail is afrikanuskofi@gmail.com, and his Facebook page is here.
